Member types explainer
Associate members
Associate membership allows registered medical practitioners providing unsupervised specialist women’s health services in Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, and our nearest global neighbours to enhance their knowledge and skills in the pursuit of excellence in women’s health.
Affiliate members
Doctors who have not trained with the College, or medical students who are yet to qualify, can become affiliate members to access the educational and networking resources that affiliate membership affords.
Associate members: Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand
Eligiblity
You can apply to become an associate member if you are a registered medical practitioner who holds a specialist qualification in the area of obstetrics and gynaecology (that was not awarded by RANZCOG) and are providing unsupervised specialist women’s health services in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand.

Associate members: Pacific
Eligiblity
As a Pacific Associate member, O&G specialists based in the Pacific can access RANZCOG resources and scholarships, and participate in the RANZCOG CPD Program for Pacific O&G specialists.
You can apply to become a Pacific Associate member if you are a registered medical practitioner in a Pacific Island country and hold a specialist qualification in obstetrics and gynaecology (that was not awarded by RANZCOG) and are providing unsupervised specialist women’s health services in the Pacific.

Fees
There is no fee to become a Pacific Associate member of RANZCOG.
Apply
The following documents will be required (please compile in readiness, prior to lodging your application):
Certificate: Specialist Medical Qualification (Master of Medicine MMed in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, or equivalent)
Certificate: Postgraduate Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Certificate: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
Current Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Current Annual Practising Certificate (from Medical Board/Medical Council)
Certificate of Registration as a Specialist Medical Practitioner (if available / optional)
Applications for Associate Membership are assessed by the Global Health Committee and sent to the RANZCOG Board for approval.

Educational affiliates
Eligibility
You may be eligible to apply for Educational Affiliate membership if you are:
A registered medical practitioner working as a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology or more broadly in women’s health in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand
Not a Fellow of RANZCOG
Not eligible for Associate Membership
For example, Area of Need (AoN) practitioners in Australia and International Medical Graduates (IMGs) practising in Aotearoa New Zealand under a provisional vocational scope of practice.

International affiliates
Eligiblity
Registered medical practitioners working as a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology in countries other than Australia and New Zealand, who are not RANZCOG Fellows and are not eligible for membership of the College as an associate member or as an educational affiliate, may apply for International Affiliate membership.
This class of affiliate membership provides an opportunity for international leaders working in the specialty of obstetrics and gynaecology to enhance and their knowledge and skills in the pursuit of excellence in women’s health.

Annual renewal
Ongoing Membership is subject to payment of the annual International Affiliate subscription fee.
Download your logo
The International Affiliate logo is available for all International Affiliates to signify their membership of the College. It can be used on office stationery, including letterhead and business cards, email signatures, room signage and presentation slides.
Once your application as an International Affiliate has been processed, you will be able to log in to Acquire and download variations of the logo. By asking you to log in, we protect the integrity of the logo and guard against its misuse.

Prevocational affiliates
Members of the Prevocational Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society of Australia and New Zealand (PVOGS) are also afforded membership as a prevocational affiliate of RANZCOG.
Please note: Prevocational affiliate membership is independent to registration to the RANZCOG Prevocational Pathway (PVP). Prevocational affiliate membership does not link or award any credit to the PVP Pathway or selection for the FRANZCOG training program.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for prevocational affiliate membership of RANZCOG, applicants must be either studying medicine at a university — or be a prevocational doctor residing and practising — in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand.
Applicants are not eligible for prevocational affiliate membership if they are already a member of RANZCOG as either a trainee, qualified Diplomate or Certificant.

Midwife affiliates
Eligiblity
Midwives who hold general midwifery registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or a practising certificate with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand are eligible for a Midwife Affiliate membership.
