Meeting your CAPE Requirements

From 2025, the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) requires all CPD Homes to include specific ‘program-level requirements’ to ensure safe, inclusive, and ethical healthcare. These requirements apply to medical practitioners in both Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. RANZCOG supports CPD participants with guidance, resources, and activity options to meet these obligations. RANZCOG has prioritised the following aspects for 2025:

  • Culturally Safe Practice: Providing care that is respectful, responsive, and free of racism and bias. This includes ongoing critical reflection on knowledge, attitudes, and power imbalances, and recognising the ongoing impacts of colonisation on First Nations peoples.
  • Professionalism: Upholding integrity, accountability, teamwork, ethical principles, and effective communication in medical practice.

For more information and to review the CAPE requirements and recommended activities go to Program Updates – RANZCOG.

The RANZCOG CPD Program

The RANZCOG CPD program connects you with learning and development opportunities that are relevant to your daily practice, and support your continuous improvement in areas relevant to cultural safety, professionalism and ethics. For more details about the CPD activities you can complete to meet your requirements please review the CPD Framework.

To support the CPD Framework, our CPD Framework Definitions Guide includes links to useful resources and templates. The College has developed a range of policies, procedures and resources to help you stay on track with CPD participation and compliance.
