Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Trainee Scholarships

About

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainee scholarship will support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specialist trainees in obstetrics and gynaecology, prevocational doctors, and medical students who will benefit in attending educational and networking events hosted by RANZCOG.

Number of scholarships

Eight professional development scholarships to the value of $2,500 will be awarded to scholarship recipients to attend either the RANZCOG Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM), Regional Scientific Meeting (RSM) or State/Territory Scientific Meetings (SSMs).


Eligibility

Applicants must be current RANZCOG trainees, prevocational doctors or medical students.

Applicants must identify as Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander (confirmation of Aboriginality should be able to be provided if requested).

Funds must be used within the year that the scholarship is awarded.

Funds must be used for Conference / workshop attendance at the RANZCOG Annual ScientificMeeting (ASM), Regional Scientific Meeting (RSM) or State/Territory Scientific Meetings (SSM).

At the end of the scholarship period, successful candidates must complete a financial report detailing items the funding has been allocated to.

Successful candidates must provide a short reflection of what they have gained through scientific meeting attendance, either through a written reflection or recorded conversation with an Indigenous Fellow.


Apply

Scholarship applicants who meet the eligibility criteria, will have their applications assessed by a selection panel. Successful applicants will be notified via email.

First round applications open Monday 28 February and close Wednesday 1 June (11.59pm AEST)
