Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Trainee Scholarship

About

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Trainee Scholarship supports specialist trainees in obstetrics and gynaecology, prevocational doctors and medical students who will benefit in attending educational and networking events hosted by RANZCOG.

Eligibility

The scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility criteria:

Applicants must be current RANZCOG trainees, prevocational doctors or medical students

Applicants must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander

Funds must be used for events or opportunities held on or before February 2025

Funds must be used for conference or workshop attendance that provides learning opportunities in specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology. These could be to attend the RANZCOG Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM), RANZCOG Symposium or any external, relevant, professional development opportunities, workshops or events

At the end of the scholarship period, scholarship recipients must complete a financial report detailing items the funding has been allocated to including the provision of receipts

Scholarship recipients must provide a short reflection of what they have gained through scientific meeting attendance, either through a written reflection or recorded conversation with a First Nations Fellow

Scholarship funds and tenure

Eight (8) scholarships of $2,500, to attend one of the following RANZCOG and/or other professional development opportunities:

Other external professional development opportunities, workshops and events that will provide learning opportunities to further their specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology

The second round of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Trainee scholarship applications are now open and will close Sunday 26 May 2024 at 6.00pm (AEST).

First-round applications closed on 1 September 2023.
