Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Trainee Scholarship

About

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Trainee Scholarship supports specialist trainees in obstetrics and gynaecology, prevocational doctors and medical students who will benefit in attending educational and networking events hosted by RANZCOG.

Eligibility

The scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following eligibility criteria:

Applicants must be current RANZCOG trainees, prevocational doctors or medical students

Applicants must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander

Funds must be used within the year that the scholarship is awarded

Funds must be used for conference/workshop attendance at the RANZCOG Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM), Regional Scientific Meeting (RSM) or State/Territory Scientific Meetings (SSM)

At the end of the scholarship period, successful candidates must complete a financial report detailing items the funding has been allocated to, including the provision of receipts

Successful candidates must provide a short reflection of what they have gained through scientific meeting attendance, either through a written reflection or recorded conversation with a First Nations Fellow

Scholarship funds and tenure

Eight (8) scholarships of $2,500, to attend one of the following RANZCOG meetings:

Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM)

Regional Scientific Meeting (RSM)

State/Territory Scientific Meetings (SSMs)

First-round applications closed on 1 September 2023.

Please note that the second round of scholarships will open in mid-2024.
