Women and Children Held in Detention: Call for Action

11 October 2018

The RANZCOG Board are aware of, and deeply concerned about, the detrimental health and social impacts on children and their families held in Australian detention centres and that such detention contravenes the UN conventions on the rights of the child.  We call for meaningful action to be taken by the Australian Government and reaffirm our Position statement, Health of women seeking asylum, refugees and women held in detention (September 2016).
