The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) invites doctors in Australia and New Zealand, with an interest in women’s health, to join its CPD Home as a CPD Affiliate.

RANZCOG has received initial accreditation as a CPD home from the Australian Medical Council (AMC) and from January 2024, all doctors who hold medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) will be required to nominate a CPD home.

RANZCOG President Dr Benjamin Bopp said: “We are pleased to be continuing as a CPD Home for our valued Fellows and look forward to further enhancing the support and services we provide them. We are also proud to be introducing our CPD Affiliate Membership category. This will provide a viable option for doctors with an interest in women’s health to continue with their professional development and learning journey.”

President-Elect Dr Gillian Gibson said: “The CPD Affiliate Membership is an exciting opportunity for RANZCOG to expand our networks and to provide a professional development framework for a bigger cohort of medical practitioners. We welcome all doctors with an interest in women’s health to get in touch with us and express your interest in joining the RANZCOG CPD Home.”

As a CPD Affiliate of RANZCOG, doctors will be able to take advantage of a robust, monitored and evaluated CPD program that supports individual learning needs and provides access to a portal with tools to record and track CPD progress.

The program also provides guidance and support around meeting CPD requirements for culturally safe practice, addressing health inequities, professionalism, and ethical practice, as well as access to eLearning resources, all RANZCOG publications and the opportunity to attend and present at RANZCOG events.

RANZCOG already provides access to its CPD program to Associate Members and Educational Affiliates.

RANZCOG Diplomates (upskilled General Practitioner specialists or regional doctors) and RANZCOG Certificants (medical practitioners who desire an increased knowledge in aspects of women’s health) are also invited to join RANZCOG’s CPD Home from 2024.
