Each year RANZCOG presents a selection of nominated individuals with honours and awards to recognise their outstanding service and dedication to advancing women’s health. Nominations are considered by the College Honours Committee and awarded by the RANZCOG Board.

President's Medal
Associate Professor Marilyn Clarke
Fellow
Associate Professor Marilyn Clarke has been awarded the RANZCOG President’s Medal in recognition of her extraordinary contribution to the work of the College. Associate Professor Clarke’s distinguished career and unwavering commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women’s health have had a profound and lasting impact.
Through her leadership – including as Chair of the First Nations Women’s Health Committee – she has advanced equitable, culturally safe care, strengthened the Indigenous health workforce, and driven meaningful change across clinical practice, education, and research.
Professor David Ellwood
Fellow (CMFM)
Professor David Ellwood has been awarded the RANZCOG President’s Medal in recognition of his remarkable contribution to the work of the College and dedication to his exceptional and long-standing career in maternal fetal medicine.
The College recognises Professor Ellwood’s commitment to policy, research, and teaching, and his devotion to improving outcomes for women and babies everywhere.

Associate Professor Miranda Davies-Tuck
Associate Professor Miranda Davies-Tuck has been awarded the RANZCOG Honorary Fellowship in recognition of her exceptional contribution to women’s health.
Associate Professor Davies-Tuck’s leadership in perinatal research has transformed maternity care and advanced equity in pregnancy outcomes.
Distinguished Service Medal
Dr Marilla Druitt
Fellow
Dr Marilla Druitt has been awarded the RANZCOG Distinguished Service Medal in recognition of the extraordinary contribution she has made to the work of the College over many years, and to her dedication to enhancing outcomes for women’s health.
Dr Druitt’s leadership, advocacy, research, and teaching in pelvic pain have directly contributed to improving the lives of many women.
RANZCOG Excellence in Women's Health Award
Professor Phillipa Kyle

Professor Phillipa Kyle has been awarded the RANZCOG Excellence in Women’s Health Award in recognition of her significant contribution to women’s health through her work in maternal fetal medicine, prenatal diagnosis, research, and training.
The Board particularly acknowledges Professor Kyle’s collaboration, leadership, passion, and dedication to improving and providing best outcomes to all patients throughout her wonderful career.
Associate Professor Susan Evans

Associate Professor Susan Evans has been awarded the RANZCOG Excellence in Women’s Health Award in recognition of her significant and sustained contribution to women’s health, particularly through her work in the field of pelvic pain and endometriosis.
The Board acknowledges her leadership, research, education, and advocacy to ensure both medical practice and the public have a greater understanding of pelvic pain and endometriosis to improve care and outcomes for all women.
RANZCOG Outstanding Contribution to Women's Health Award
Dr Karen Mizia

Dr Karen Mizia has been awarded the RANZCOG Outstanding Contribution to Women’s Health Award in recognition of her significant contributions to women’s health, specifically her lasting contribution to clinical excellence, advocacy, education, and leadership.
Dr Mizia’s dedication to teaching and work in the subspecialty of ultrasound has directly improved health outcomes for women and their babies.
RANZCOG Early Career Fellow Award
Dr Alexandra Frain
Fellow
Dr Alexandra Frain has been awarded the RANZCOG Early Career Fellow Award in recognition of her substantial contribution to women’s health through her dedication to teaching in a regional setting, clinical excellence, and leadership in her community.
Dr Frain’s commitment and efforts to the obstetrics and gynaecology unit at Launceston General Hospital and to women’s health care and education in general are invaluable.
Dr Alicia Mulligan

Dr Alicia Mulligan has been awarded the RANZCOG Early Career Fellow Award in recognition of her significant contribution made to women’s health and College work.
From the earliest stages in her training through to post- Fellowship, Dr Mulligan’s commitment, leadership, and vision within RANZCOG is a standout.

Associate Professor Thangeswaran Rudra has been awarded the RANZCOG Distinguished Service Award for his remarkable contribution to the work of the College and his commitment and dedication to training, education, and various RANZCOG committees.
Associate Professor Rudra’s extensive commitment to improving services and to sharing knowledge throughout his career has been commendable.
Dr Paul Conaghan

Dr Paul Conaghan has been awarded the RANZCOG Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding contribution to the work of the College and for his extensive contribution to the Queensland Training Accreditation Committee.
Dr Conaghan’s commitment to training and education throughout Queensland, and his involvement with RANZCOG as an examiner is truly admirable.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Health Award
Molly Wardaguga Institute
The Molly Wardaguga Institute has been awarded the RANZCOG Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Health Award in recognition of their leadership, research excellence, and transformative impact on maternal and infant health in the community.
The collective dedication to improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mothers and babies through culturally grounded, community-led, and evidence based care is a standout.
The achievements of the institute represent some of the most significant advancements in First Nations maternal health nationally and set a benchmark for what culturally safe, community-driven health reform can look like.
Māori Women's Health Award
Matua Luke Crawford
Kaumātua Luke Mikaere Crawford was posthumously honoured with the RANZCOG Māori Women’s Health Award in recognition of his enduring contribution to Māori women’s health, hauora whānau, and cultural safety.
As Kaumātua of RANZCOG for over eight years, Matua Luke provided compassionate and steadfast guidance, ensuring RANZCOG’s work increasingly reflected equitable, te Tiriti-based practice grounded in respect for Māori knowledge systems. Renowned for his manaakitanga, humility, and cultural wisdom, Matua Luke created spaces where Māori could stand confidently in their identity and where others could learn with respect.
Beyond the College, Matua Luke dedicated his life to advancing Māori wellbeing, identity, and cultural pride across Aotearoa. His contributions to Māori leadership and community service were widely recognised across the health, education, sport, and community sectors.
His legacy lives on in the cultural foundations he embedded, the people he uplifted, and the pathways he strengthened for future generations.
RANZCOG Wellbeing Award
Dr Ming Xue Fan
FRANZCOG Trainee
Dr Ming Xue Fan has been awarded the RANZCOG Wellbeing Award in recognition of her significant contribution to promoting and fostering wellbeing practices in the workplace. The Board notes her dedication to establishing a supportive environment for everyone in her workplace, particularly fostering the wellbeing of junior staff members.
Dr Fan’s consistent dedication to her colleagues and the overall positive impact she has made during her training within our specialty are truly deserving of the RANZCOG Wellbeing Award.

Dr Katrina Calvert

Dr Katrina Calvert has been awarded the RANZCOG Organisational Values Award in recognition of her exceptional dedication to education, advocacy, integrity, kindness, and respect. Dr Calvert possesses outstanding leadership in advancing innovative, inclusive, and evidence-based education within obstetrics and gynaecology.
She is a champion for trainee wellbeing, kindness, and psychological safety, helping to shape a more supportive professional culture. Her sustained values-driven contributions to RANZCOG education and training make her an exceptional and deserving award recipient.
