The Mapping Project
RANZCOG developed the O&G Map with funding from the Australian Department of Health and Aged Care as a tool for exploring O&G health services.
The project is part of a wider initiative entitled: Mapping Maternal Health and Gynaecological Services in Rural, Regional and Remote Australia: Uptake, Barriers and Recommendations (or the Mapping Project for short).
The Mapping Project aimed to:
- Map the geographic distribution of O&G services, the O&G workforce, and levels of service in rural, regional, and remote Australia, and
- Identify service and workforce gaps, and barriers to effective service delivery.

The data presented on the RANZCOG O&G Map is representative of publicly funded obstetrics and gynaecological (O&G) health services, key population data and annual self-reported workforce locations from College Members.
