The Translating Research into Practice Workshop equips participants with the skills to assess evidence, translate it into practice and integrate RANZCOG clinical guidelines within their own health service or private practice.  

Through a deep dive into RANZCOG’s robust evidence-based guideline development process, the program will unpack how to form searchable clinical questions to be used in a PICO format; how to screen and critically appraise evidence to inform the structure of recommendations; how to write policy based on guidelines; how to publish your own research; and much more!

Learning objectives

Participants will learn practical skills including:

How to critically appraise evidence using GRADE methodology (Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation).

Understanding how research translates to guidelines and what makes robust and reliable guidelines.

Developing reliable research methods that can be used in guidelines.

Implementation of guidelines into clinical practice and local health policy.

Understanding how to become involved in the RANZCOG clinical guideline development process.

By completing the Translating Research into Practice Workshop, participants will be eligible to claim CPD hours.

This is a cost neutral event which has been subsidised by the RANZCOG Research and Policy Team.

RANZCOG Trainees please note that attending the Translating Research into Practice Workshop, is one of the approved research activities endorsed by the Research Assessment Subcommittee and can contribute one point towards meeting the FRANZCOG Research Training Requirement.
