About

The Training Supervisor Workshop has been developed for supervisors of trainees who are undertaking:

  • Fellowship of RANZCOG (FRANZCOG)
  • Certificate of Women’s Health (CWH)
  • RANZCOG Associate Training Program (Procedural) (PTP)
  • RANZCOG Associate Training Program (Advanced Procedural) (APTP)

The Training Supervisor Workshop builds on the Clinical Education Training program (CET Part 1 and CET Part 2), which you must complete prior to attending supervisor training.

You must complete the Supervisor Training Workshop within one year of being appointed as a supervisor.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Identify the roles and responsibilities of a RANZCOG/PTP/APTP supervisor.
  • Differentiate between teaching and teaching for learning.
  • Discuss ways to modify teaching to individual trainees.
  • Set goals with a trainee.
  • Practice using Pendleton’s model of feedback.
  • Identify RANZCOG assessment requirements and the potential impact of assessors on validity and reliability.
