About

The Asia and Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (AOFOG) hosts a Congress every two years. AOFOG offers the Mizuno-Ratnam Young Gynaecologist Award (YGA) to obstetrician-gynaecologists aged 40 years and under from member countries across Asia and Oceania to support their attendance of the AOFOG Congress.

Participating in the AOFOG Congress provides YGA recipients (YGAs) with the opportunity to update O&G skills and knowledge, interact with peers from across Asia and Oceania, learn about AOFOG, and strengthen their women’s health leadership and advocacy skills.

The award is open to all 23 member countries of AOFOG. YGAs from 16 low- and middle-income countries receive financial support from AOFOG to attend the Congress. YGAs from 7 high-income member countries and their National O&G Societies or Colleges are responsible for funding YGA Congress attendance.

The RANZCOG Mizuno-Ratnam YGA supports AOFOG Congress attendance of two RANZCOG members, one each from Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
