Dr Martina Mende is a GP Obstetrician with a commitment to enhancing health equity and ensuring access to comprehensive reproductive care. Her work as a clinical lead in a southern NSW GP-led maternity unit and in abortion care have contributed to these vital areas.
Martina holds a Masters in Public Health and has pursued further education in medical administration and leadership, alongside medical education training. Her work includes training rural GP obstetricians and GPs in sexual and reproductive health, aiming to enhance care quality and accessibility.
Recently appointed to the board of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), Martina advocates for increased access to reproductive services for all, with a keen focus on First Nations and disadvantaged populations. She is also dedicated to supporting rural maternity services and believes in the importance of continuity of care models and robust training for GP Obstetricians.
This is Martina’s first term as an Associate (Procedural and Adv. Procedural) (or equivalent) Board Director.
