GLOWM has now launched the SaferMotherhood app, an interactive mobile-based programme. Freely downloadable on smart phone or tablet – the app provides expert guidance on managing obstetric emergencies and expert guidance on all aspects of pregnancy and childbirth. Constant connection to the internet is not needed to use the app.
Key features include:
- A unique option allows midwives and nurses to store patient records securely and to share them with their clinics
- Custom adaption locally by individual Societies to feature local protocols and other relevant materials

- Population Reports, Population Information Program, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, USA. Email to subscribe and receive regular reports email.
- DynaMed provides free access to medical reference information on 1791 clinical topics via the internet for healthcare professionals in developing countries. The information is updated daily through systematic literature surveillance. Healthcare professionals and trainees can obtain a code for free access by emailing their name, health care service role, and name of country.
- MedPulse is a weekly index of key news and features on Medscape's specialty sites
- BioMed Central - over 100 open access journals covering all areas of biology and medicine available online
