In-hospital Credentialing Documentation

In response to requests from a number of its accredited Integrated Program (ITP) hospitals, the College has developed standardised in-hospital credentialing documentation for use throughout the ITP in Australia and New Zealand.

The documentation is a risk management tool for documenting assessment of registrars' competence and confidence in core surgical procedures after hours. The documentation should be made available to all relevant consultant and nursing staff. Use of this College documentation is not compulsory. Hospitals which have already implemented an appropriate in-hospital credentialing process of their own may continue with their current documentation.

Note: This documentation is distinct from the RANZCOG's external documentation for the assessment of registrars' competency in core basic and advanced O&G surgical procedures, which is for College assessment purpose.
