PROMPT Australia

Background

The PROMPT Train the Trainer (T3) program is delivered in Australia and New Zealand by RANZCOG under license from the PROMPT Maternity Foundation (PMF) UK.

RANZCOG has delivered the program in Australia since 2012, with the program now running at various hospitals across all states and territories. RANZCOG has run the program in New Zealand since 2005.

In 2019 RANZCOG commenced delivering PROMPT 3, the newest version of PROMPT. This version includes two new modules, updated research, data and figures.

What is PROMPT?

PROMPT is an evidence-based, multi-professional obstetric training package that trains all those who care for mothers and their babies together in the effective management of obstetric emergencies.

The program aims to reduce preventable harm for mothers and their babies.

More information

PROMPT training provides facilities with an avenue to train their staff, together, on site in the very environment where emergencies may occur.

The program focuses strongly on the communication, teamwork and situational awareness skills of team members and how improving these will benefit response times and management of obstetric emergencies.

In-situ delivery of  training allows facilities to test existing processes and policies for efficiency and effectiveness, with results from testing informing change where required.

Real time training will deliver real results.

PROMPT Training

RANZCOG PROMPT Train the Trainer (T3) Courses train hospital teams how to run the PROMPT program on-site at their facility.

The program is delivered via presentations, discussion and hands-on practical experience from participation in simulated obstetric emergencies.
