Examination applications for the RANZCOG 2022 Examinations will open on an examination by examination basis, once dates, locations and examiners have been confirmed for each examination.  Trainees who have registered for a RANZCOG examination or have expressed interest in an examination will be contacted via email when registration for that particular examination reopens .

The College Calendar for 2022 has been confirmed. Should any changes need to be made due to COVID-19, the College has made a commitment to provide at least three months’ notice prior to any examination. All oral examinations will be held online until further notice.

Due to changes around the examination dates and to reflect ongoing changes related to COVID-19, all candidates must register or re-register using the online forms. Candidates who have already registered and paid for an examination will be eligible to receive a voucher code for use in the registration forms. Please contact [email protected] to obtain the voucher code at the time of registration.

Online Oral Examination Prioritisation Criteria

The RANZCOG Board approved the following prioritisation criteria to be applied when applications for the online oral examination exceed the number of places available at each sitting.

The following is taken into consideration including Special Considerations and Exceptional Circumstances at the time of application.

  • A candidate who is subject to Progression Review Committee conditions
  • A candidate who commenced training prior to December 1, 2013 (Old cohort)
  • A candidate who has 184 weeks of satisfactorily approved credited training time
  • A candidate who has 138 weeks or more of satisfactorily approved credited training time
  • A candidate who is a Specialist International Medical Graduate
  • A candidate who has less than 138 weeks of approved credited training will be selected based on the highest weeks of satsifactorily approved credited training time at the time of registration.
  • Following the above criteria being met and should there be too many candidates to fill the final places, and there are a group of candidates with the same number of satisfactorily approved credited training time, a ballot will be applied to allocate to fill the remaining places.

A reserve list will be created for candidates who have registered but are unsuccessful in being allocated a position.

When completing the online registration process for an oral examination, we encourage applicants to ensure all relevant requirements are completed and submitted prior to the application closing date.
