For those seeking information about the Prevocational Pathway (PVP) in relation to the Certificate of Women’s Health (CWH), the DRANZCOG and/or the DRANZCOG Advanced  Training Programs, please see Frequently Asked Questions on the Prevocational Pathway page. 
 

Prospective trainees wishing to undertake CWH training must:

1. Secure a training position, either in a hospital accredited by the RANZCOG for CWH training or a GP clinic.

2. Nominate a Training Mentor. If training is hospital-based, the Training Mentor must be located on-site. If training is practice-based, the Training Mentor does not need to be located on-site, but must be able to meet with the trainee on a regular basis. The Training Mentor must hold the DRANZCOG, DRANZCOG Advanced, DipRACOG or Fellowship of the RANZCOG.

3. Download the CWH Application for Training form. Submit the completed form to the CWH and Diploma administration at College House, at least four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of training.

 

Prospective trainees who have not previously completed the CWH and wish to undertake DRANZCOG training must complete the training and assessment requirements for both the CWH and the DRANZCOG. Prospective CWH & DRANZCOG trainees must:

1. Secure a training position, either in a hospital accredited by the RANZCOG for DRANZCOG training or a combination of a hospital and appropriate clinic setting(s). (NB: CWH requirements can be met in appropriate clinic settings.)

2. Nominate a Training Supervisor who is in active obstetric practice in the hospital where the trainee is undertaking DRANZCOG training. The Training Supervisor must hold either the DRANZCOG or DRANZCOG Advanced, or Fellowship of the RANZCOG.

3. Download the CWH & DRANZCOG Application for Training form. Submit the completed form to the CWH and Diploma administration at College House, at least four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of training.

 

Prospective trainees who have previously completed the CWH and wish to undertake DRANZCOG only training need not repeat the training and assessment requirements of the CWH, provided they have participated in approved continuing professional development since completing the CWH. Prospective DRANZCOG ONLY trainees must:

1. Secure a training position in a hospital accredited by the RANZCOG for DRANZCOG training.

2. Nominate a Training Supervisor who is in active obstetric practice in the hospital where the trainee is undertaking DRANZCOG training. The Training Supervisor must hold either the DRANZCOG or DRANZCOG Advanced, or Fellowship of the RANZCOG.

3. Download the DRANZCOG only Application for Training form. Submit the completed form to the CWH and Diploma administration at College House, at least four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of training.

 

Prospective trainees who have NOT previously completed the CWH or DRANZCOG and wish to undertake DRANZCOG Advanced training must complete the training and assessment requirements for the CWH, DRANZCOG and the DRANZCOG Advanced. Prospective DRANZCOG Advanced trainees must:

1. Secure a training position, either in a hospital accredited by the RANZCOG for DRANZCOG Advanced training or a combination of a hospital and appropriate clinic setting/s (NB: CWH requirements can be met in appropriate clinic settings).

2. Nominate two (2) Training Supervisors. At least one Training Supervisor must be in active obstetric practice in the hospital where the trainee is undertaking DRANZCOG Advanced training. Both Training Supervisors must hold either the DRANZCOG Advanced or Fellowship of the RANZCOG.

3. Download the CWH, DRANZCOG, DRANZCOG ADVANCED application for training form. Submit the completed form to the CWH and Diploma administration at College House, at least four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of training.

Prospective trainees who have previously completed the CWH and wish to undertake DRANZCOG Advanced training need not repeat the training and assessment requirements of the CWH, provided they have participated in approved continuing professional development since completing the CWH. These trainees, however, must complete the training and assessment requirements of the DRANZCOG as well as those for the DRANZCOG Advanced. Prospective DRANZCOG Advanced trainees must:

1. Secure a training position in a hospital accredited by the RANZCOG for DRANZCOG Advanced training (NB: DRANZCOG training and assessment requirements must also be completed in a hospital setting).

2. Nominate two (2) Training Supervisors. At least one Training Supervisor must be in active obstetric practice in the hospital where the trainee is undertaking DRANZCOG Advanced training. Both Training Supervisors must hold either the DRANZCOG Advanced or Fellowship of the RANZCOG.

3. Download the DRANZCOG & DRANZCOG ADVANCED application for Training form. Submit the completed form to the CWH and Diploma administration at College House, at least four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of training.

 

Prospective trainees who have previously completed the CWH and DRANZCOG (separately or concurrently) and wish to undertake DRANZCOG Advanced training need not repeat the training and assessment requirements of the CWH or DRANZCOG, provided they have participated in approved continuing professional development since completing the CWH and/or DRANZCOG. Prospective DRANZCOG Advanced trainees must:

1. Secure a training position in a hospital accredited by the RANZCOG for DRANZCOG Advanced training.

2. Nominate two (2) Training Supervisors. At least one Training Supervisor must be in active obstetric practice in the hospital where the trainee is undertaking DRANZCOG Advanced training. Both Training Supervisors must hold either the DRANZCOG Advanced or Fellowship of the RANZCOG.

3.  Download the DRANZCOG Advanced (only) application for Training form. Submit the completed form to the CWH and Diploma administration at College House, at least four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of training.
