Board of Examiners

Fellows, Associates (Procedural) and Associates (Advanced Procedural) may apply to be appointed to the RANZCOG Board of Examiners.

What is involved?

The Board of Examiners has five levels of membership:

RANZCOG Associate (Procedural)

RANZCOG Associate (Advanced Procedural)

Fellowship

Subspecialty (CGO, CMFM, COGU, CREI, CU)

Emeritus

Examiners may be involved in activities such as:

Developing questions for written examinations

Developing cases for oral examinations

Reviewing  examination questions

Participating in standard setting activities

Marking examination questions

Examining candidates at oral examinations

Providing feedback to candidates who have failed

It is expected that examiners will make themselves available for at least one examination activity per year. Professional Development (PD) points can be earned by contributing to examination activities.

Emeritus Examiner appointment

Appointment to Emeritus Examiner level is an honorary role, recognising a record of distinguished service as a RANZCOG examiner. 

Nominations should be made in writing to the Chair of the Education and Assessment Committee and must include a written justification for the recommendation for appointment and a seconder for the nomination.
