Constitution consultation

Have your say about proposed changes to the RANZCOG Constitution

About the changes

The RANZCOG Board invited all Fellows to have their say on proposed constitutional changes, intended to improve representation, governance, compliance and alignment with the College’s charitable purpose. The consultation period closed on 30th August 2023.

During the consultation process, Fellows raised concerns regarding representation. The Board members considered the concerns raised by Fellows and proposed additional changes to address it:

Increase the number of representatives from South Australia on the Council from one (1) to two (2)

Additionally, the Board proposed the Constitution clauses be amended to refer to New Zealand as Aotearoa New Zealand to honour the indigenous Māori culture and language, reflecting the College’s commitment to cultural diversity and respect.

The changes were approved in principle by the RANZCOG Board on 8th September 2023.
