About

Fellows who wish to be registered with the College as an expert witness will need to read and agree to abide by the Expert Witness Register Guidelines. Fellows must also:

  • Hold unconditional registration as a medical practitioner AHPRA or the MCNZ;
  • Be in good standing with the College;
  • Be in compliance with the Continuing Professional Development program of the College, including completion of any medico-legal component, if available.

Organisations that require an expert witness can specify location, gender, and the areas of expertise they require and RANZCOG can provide the names of specialists that meet these criteria.

Excellence in Report Writing and Expert Witness Training Workshop

The Excellence in Report Writing and Expert Witness Training workshop is facilitated by Claro Law now part of Dentons. This one-day workshop focuses on how to write an expert report and how to act as an expert witness. Offering detailed guidance, models, case studies, practical demonstration and simulation.

Following attendance at an Excellence in Report Writing and Expert Witness Training workshop, Fellows can apply to participate in the RANZCOG Expert Witness Register.
