Consultation survey: review of EQuIPNational

19 April 2017

The National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards were developed by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC) to protect the public from harm and to improve the quality of health care. The Commission is currently revising version 2 of the NSQHS Standards, which are scheduled for release in late-2017.
Version 2 of the NSQHS Standards introduces some new issues not covered in the first version of the Standards, including mental health and cognitive impairment, health literacy, end-of-life care, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, assessment and care planning, evaluation of care, nutrition, staff performance assessment, strategic planning, maintenance of buildings, plant, equipment and utilities, management of internal and external disasters, and management of violence and aggression.
As these additional issues in the NSQHS Standards version 2 were previously covered by the EQuIPNational Standards 11 to 15, Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) is reviewing the current EQuIPNational program and is inviting feedback on the content of a revised program in the form of an online survey.
Deadline for completion of the survey is Monday 24 April 2017.
