Representatives from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) – Dr Hal C. Lawrence, Executive Vice-President and CEO; Dr Thomas M. Gellhaus, Immediate Past-President; and Dr Mark DeFrancesco, Past-President – joined with RANZCOG CEO Ms Alana Killen, RANZCOG President Prof Steve Robson and Vice-President Dr John Tait at the Auckland Town Hall in New Zealand to sign a letter of intent.

The letter formalises a collaboration between ACOG and RANZCOG that aims to increase appropriate high-quality, accessible women’s healthcare and maternity services around the world.

Both parties commit to working together to identify areas of women’s health that would benefit from a collective response. Enabling improved patient care and maternity services is a key component of the collaboration.

Strategic planning to influence and develop government policy in relation to women’s healthcare is also high on the agenda as another key objective of the partnership.
