Pilot: Online Communication Skills Workshop

The aim of this course is to support trainees in effective communications with colleagues, patients and their families, and help identify appropriate tools to assist in the clinical work environment.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

explain how individual and environmental factors can be optimised to facilitate communication

demonstrate effective communication skills in the delivery of ‘bad’ or unexpected news

identify barriers to effective communication and apply strategies to optimise communication in specific situations (with patients and colleagues)

identify individual areas for improvement to help develop and justify a personalised action plan

Target group: First- and second-year FRANZCOG trainees

Dates: Saturday 2 July, Saturday 29 October and Sunday 4 December

Time: 10:30 – 15:00 (AEST)
