Welcome to the second edition of The RANZCOG Women’s Health Foundation Newsletter. As Chair of the RANZCOG Women’s Health Foundation, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy 2021 and thank all RANZCOG Members sincerely, for your support and commitment to Excellence and Equity in Women’s Health.

This mid-summer edition of Foundation News features a look at two very different lives, stories of two women, shared by Dr Jared Watts, Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, WA Country Health Service and Head of Department for the Kimberley Region.

Travel scholarship recipient, Dr Gaya Jayasinghe shares her experience as a volunteer in Papua New Guinea, and we introduce you to RANZCOG Women’s Health Foundation Committee member, FRANZCOG trainee Dr Lachlan Brennan. We would also like to share with you the latest recipients of the RANZCOG Women’s Health Foundation Fellowships, Scholarships and Grants.

Finally, the RANZCOG Secondary Schools Literary Competition, the Liam and Frankie Davison Award, opens on January 31, 2021. The award recognises outstanding achievement in writing on Women’s Health.
