15 June 2020

With COVID-19 restrictions easing across Australia and New Zealand, the College would like to update all members and trainees.

Australia

All face-to-face events, meetings and workshops scheduled up until the end of September 2020 have been cancelled or postponed.

However, please note:

  • The DRANZCOG Advanced Oral examination scheduled on August 30 will be run in an online format for a limited number of candidates.

  • The subspecialty written examination will be held in the RANZCOG state and territory and New Zealand offices/locations as required. All examinations will be paper based. These examinations will take place under strict protocols and safety measures – sanitation stations will be set up, and social distancing and health protocols will be implemented.

  • The written examination for Certification in Urogynaecology (CU) will be held on Thursday, 24 September 2020.

  • Written examinations for Certification in Gynaecological Oncology (CGO), Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM), Obstetrical and Gynaecological Ultrasound (COGU) and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) will be held on Thursday, 1 October 2020.

RANZCOG State and Territory and the New Zealand office are preparing online revision courses for FRANZCOG and DRANZCOG trainees. Further details about these courses are here (FRANZCOG) and here (DRANZCOG).

New Zealand

New Zealand has moved to Alert Level 1 from 11:59pm on Monday, June 8, so there are now no restrictions on gatherings and no social distancing requirements, although please be reminded that people and businesses should be prepared to act fast to step up Alert Levels if the need arises.

RANZCOG staff will all be back in the Wellington office by Monday, June 15.

Committee meetings in June and July will continue to be held online but after this face-to-face meetings will resume, although it is anticipated that some meetings will continue to be held online.

Training workshops and other events are to take place as scheduled.
