RANZCOG Fellows and Honorary Fellow awarded honours on Australia Day

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists would like to congratulate our Fellows and Honorary Fellow for being awarded honours on Australia Day 2018.

Our Fellows, Professor Ian Godfrey HAMMOND and Professor Mark Peter UMSTAD have been conferred the title of Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia. Prof Hammond was awarded for significant service to medicine in the field of gynaecological oncology as a clinician, to cancer support and palliative care, and to professional groups. Prof Umstad was awarded for significant service to medicine in the field of obstetrics, particularly complex pregnancies, as a clinician, consultant and academic.

Finally, our Honorary Fellow, Professor Suzanne Marie GARLAND, has been bestowed the title of Officer (AO) in the General Division of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to medicine in the field of clinical microbiology, particularly to infectious diseases in reproductive and neonatal health as a physician, administrator, researcher and author, and to professional medical organisations.

RANZCOG is proud to count with such distinguished individuals as part of its community.
