RANZCOG 2018 ASM: Pre-Meeting Workshops Day One

15 September 2018

The first day of Pre-Meeting workshops kick off today at the Convention Centre in Adelaide. Four sessions will be run that look at obstetric medical updates, support for RANZCOG training supervisors, culturally safe health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women and upskilling for GP obstetricians and gynaecologists.

The biggest session of the day is the Diplomates Day Workshop spanning over the entire weekend. Facilitated by RANZCOG’s GP Obstetric Advisory Committee, the program focusses on key topics such as NIPT, difficult deliveries, cervical screening and endometriosis.

For the first time at a RANZCOG ASM the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Health Meeting will run in conjunction with the ASM. A key session for the meeting is the culturally-safe health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workshop. Delivered by Poche Centre for Indigenous Health at Flinders University, the session aims to deconstruct racialised stereotypes and misinformation.
