RANZCOG CPD Activity Approval

The College aims to facilitate safe, comprehensive Obstetric and Gynaecological care of the highest standard to the community. All College training and development programs aspire to assist Fellows and members engage in continual learning and development. 

The RANZCOG CPD program aligns with the Medical Board of Australia’s Professional Performance Framework (PPF) and the Medical Council of New Zealand's recertification programme requirements that supports the strengthening of CPD programs.

The Guide to CPD Activity Approval (The Guide) includes education standards that have been developed to help guide Education Providers to meet the standards of the CPD  program that will see a greater focus on the quality of activities that are approved.

How to promote and/or advertise an activity?

Following approval Providers may use the following strapline and/or logo in accordance with the terms and conditions:



Terms and conditions of use:

  • The provider must not use the RANZCOG logo or strapline to advertise an activity that is not approved for inclusion in the RANZCOG CPD Program.
  • The provider can include the RANZCOG CPD logo or strapline on a promotional material, their website and certificate of attendance following completion of an education activity.
  • Activities approved for RANZCOG CPD hours will be allowed to use the strapline, "Approved for RANZCOG CPD, 2019-2020 Triennium".



To advertise your activity within RANZCOG Events Calendar for the duration of your approved activity, please complete the RANZCOG CPD Activity Approval Application - Initiate Advertising and Payment form. 

Once fee payment is made, you may advertise the approved activity for as many times you wish for the duration your activity is approved (up to 12 months).

The associated fee for advertising is $150 (plus GST), per educational activity.

What are the criteria for RANZCOG activity approval?

Education Standards have been prepared as a guide to assist Providers in developing activities that are based on principles of adult learning and describe four key elements for quality educational design, delivery and implementation as follows.  Please refer to The Guide for further information.

What documentation do I need to upload when applying for activity approval?

The following documentation will be required to support your application.

  • Program outline for educational activities (session topics, timings) – See appendix 3 Guide
  • Copy of Audit plan for audit activities - see appendix 4
  • Evaluation tool – see appendix 5
  • Certificate of attendance - see appendix 7

Do I have to apply for approval prior to the activity date?

Yes, you must apply a minimum of six weeks days before the activity. Activity approval will not be provided retrospectively.

How many CPD hours will be allocated to the activity?

This will depend on the length of the Activity that will be approved for the total amount of hours participants are engaged. Scheduled welcomes, breaks and social events will be excluded from the total amount of hours approved. 

How do I know if my activity has been approved?

You will receive a confirmation email from the RANZCOG CPD department informing you of your successful application and the amount of CPD hours Fellows and members can claim for attending your activity.

Helping RANZCOG Fellows and members to record their attendance

To support Fellows and members attending your event you may wish to notify RANZCOG CPD of their attendance by completing the RANZCOG CPD Activities Bulk Upload Template, and email to [email protected] post your event.   You may promote that you will undertake this task when advertising your activity.
