CPD Requirements for the 2017-2019 Triennium

The current continuing professional development (CPD) requirements are outlined in Diplomate/Certificant CPD Requirements for the Triennium ending 31 December 2019 (PDF).
 

Women's Reproductive Health Activities

You can find women's reproductive health activities in the following locations:

 

Points Administration


Fellows of (or vocationally registered with) RACGP

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) administers points for Certificants/Diplomates who are Fellows of, or vocationally registered with, the RACGP. Direct queries to the RAGCP.
 

Fellows of (or vocationally registered with) ACRRM

The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) administers points for Certificants/Diplomates who are Fellows of, or vocationally registered with, ACRRM. Direct queries to ACRRM.
 

Certificants/Diplomates not registered with RACGP or ACRRM

RANZCOG administers points for Cerificants/Diplomates not registered with the RACGP or ACRRM. Direct queries to the RANZCOG CPD team.
 

 

Request Exemption from Accruing Points

Certificants and Diplomates may request an exemption from accruing Women’s Reproductive Health points.

Exemption conditions and procedure


Certificants/Diploma holders can only request consideration of an exemption from accruing Women’s Reproductive Health Points for the full triennium under the following circumstances:

  • Extended period of leave from clinical practice due to ill health (thirty months or  longer during current triennium).
  • Extended period of leave from clinical practice due to parental leave (thirty months or longer during current triennium).*
  • Practicing overseas (thirty months or longer during current triennium).*
  • Volunteer work overseas (thirty months or longer during current triennium).*
  • Participation in the RACGP/ACRRM/ACEM Fellowship program (thirty months or longer during current triennium).*
  • Participation in the RANZCOG Fellowship program (ongoing).

*Not available for back to back trienniums.

Exemptions from accruing Women’s Health Reproductive points can only be requested for the full triennium; requests for partial exemptions will not be considered.

Reinstatement to the Register

Previously registered RANZCOG Certificants or Diplomates who are currently practicing and would like to be reinstated to the Register, please view the RANZCOG Policy on Reinstatement to the Register of Certificants & Diplomates.

Reinstatement to the Register of Certificants & Diplomates Policy

 

Overview

The Reinstatement to the Register of Certificate Holders, Diplomates or Advanced Diplomates Policy applies to previously registered RANZCOG Certificants or Diplomates who are currently practicing and would like to be reinstated to the Register. A RANZCOG Certificant or Diplomate may have been removed from teh register for a variety of reasons such as:

  • resigned or removed from the Register due to unfinancial status;
  • resigned or removed from the Register due to non-completion of women’s reproductive health requirements;
  • no longer practicing intrapartum care/shared care; or
  • travelling/working overseas for a period of time.

Note: Applicants must hold current medical registration with either the Medical Board of Australia or the Medical Council of New Zealand.  Applicants who hold non-practicing medical registration are not eligible for reinstatement to the Register.

 

Fees

The Reinstatement Application fee is required to be paid before the TAR Subcommittee will consider your application. The current reinstatement fees can be viewed on the Fees page.
 


Fees and Reductions

Diplomates can request a reduction in their annual subscription fees for parental leave, extended period of leave from clinical practice due to ill health or volunteer work overseas.
