Public Consultations

Purpose of consultation

RANZCOG receives many documents requesting a College response each year from a variety of sources, including Government, non-Government, local and international organisations. As a valued member, RANZCOG invites you to provide us with your opinions on certain documents about which we are required to make a submission.

Any feedback you provide will be de-identified and provided to the working group responsible for developing the RANZCOG response to the consultations we receive from other organisations.

Depending on the nature of the consultation, feedback will be collected in one of two ways: through a Survey Monkey link, or via an online fillable form.

Before submitting your feedback, please read the Consultation Guidelines. To submit feedback on any of the current consultations, please see the links below.

Model Scopes of Clinical Practice for REI

The NSW Department of Health are in the process of developing model scopes of clinical practice (SoCP) for medical specialties in NSW Health. A draft model SoCP for REI has been released for consultation and can be downloaded via the NSW Department of Health  State Scope of Clinical Practice unit website. The Department are interested in feedback on the following:

  • Core: Is the Core SoCP a reasonable description of the type of work that can reasonably be expected to be undertaken by all practitioners in the specialty? If not, what do you suggest?
  • Specific: Does the Specific SoCP appropriately reflect procedures or practices which require specific credentialing for safe and effective performance, but which are within the practice of the relevant specialty? If not, what do you suggest?
  • Useability: Do you expect the Core and Specific descriptions to be useful in a medical appointments and credentialing process? If not, what do you suggest?
  • Potential Implications: Are there any foreseeable adverse implications which may arise from the description of the Core and Specific section of each model SoCP, for example, for workforce or operational matters? If so, please outline your concerns.
