RANZCOG Regional and New Zealand Committee Pacific Scholarships Program

The RANZCOG Regional and New Zealand Committee Pacific Scholarship Program is the pathway whereby Regional and New Zealand Committees are involved in RANZCOG’s program of activities to support capacity building of the obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G) workforce in the Pacific. 

The Program provides O&G trainees and young O&G specialists in the Pacific with an opportunity for interaction, networking, professional support and discussion on current concepts in O&G, through a scholarship to attend a RANZCOG CPD opportunity in Australia or New Zealand.  
 
The scholarships are targeted to Master of Medicine (O&G) trainees and recent Master of Medicine (O&G) graduates from the Pacific medical schools with which RANZCOG has professional involvement in the training program:
  • University of Papua New Guinea School of Health and Medical Sciences (UPNG SMHS)
  • Fiji National University College of Medical, Nursing and Health Sciences (FNU CMNHS).

The Regional and New Zealand Committees fund the following Pacific scholarships: 
  • The New Zealand Committee ASM Scholarship
  • The Queensland Regional Committee RANZCOG ASM Pacific Scholarship
  • The New South Wales Regional Committee RANZCOG ASM Pacific Scholarship
  • The Victorian/Tasmanian Regional Committee DRANZCOG Revision Course Pacific Scholarship
  • The South Australian/NT Regional Committee RANZCOG ASM Pacific Scholarship
  • The Western Australian Regional Committee RANZCOG Anatomy of Complications Workshop Pacific Scholarship*

How awarded: Awardees nominated by Pacific medical schools (not available for self-application)
Availability: Up to 6 scholarships per year
Adjudication: RANZCOG
Date offered: 6–9 months prior to the scholarship dates
