RANZCOG Reconciliation Action Plan

RANZCOG is strongly committed to improving the health and welfare of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families. The College formally committed to improving the health outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women with the establishment of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Health Committee, formerly known as the Indigenous Women’s Health Committee in 2009, and in its Strategic Plan in 2010–2012. Since then, the College has been involved in various activities, including the ‘Reflect’ Reconciliation Action Plan.

The RANZCOG Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan strengthens the College’s aim of translating its good intentions into actions by setting measurable goals, timelines and responsibilities and by building a framework to enable the College to achieve its goals.

Our RAP contributes to achieving health and equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It reflects our intention to create opportunities within the specialty and our organisation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and to provide our Fellows and Trainees with a quality training program, delivered with cultural integrity. The RAP has been endorsed by the College Board, who continue to value and prioritise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health matters.
